Annual Conference 2026
The Matawa Education Conference brings together educators, leaders, Elders, students, and community members to share knowledge and uplift Matawa learners. Through workshops, presentations, and cultural experiences, we strengthen teaching and build capacity in First Nations education.
Educating for a Good Life
This year we explore holistic, land-based, and language-rooted learning that supports the full well-being of our students — mind, body, spirit, and heart.
Matawa Education respectfully acknowledges that the lands on which we live, work, and visit are the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe Nation and the Traditional Territory of (Animki Wajiw) Fort William First Nation, signatory to the Robinson-Superior Treaty of 1850.
